The establishment of the National Institute of Intellectual Property NIIP seems to be the Egyptian house of expertise in the field of intellectual property as the dream of many interested people in this field not only in Egypt but also in the Arab world. It represents the Faculty No. 23 of Helwan University – based on the Prime Minister’s decree No. 1783 of 2016 dated 06/27/2016 which has been issued with the mandate of the President of A.R.E. NIIP carries out its activities at the national, regional and international levels, in the field of protection and exploitation of intellectual property rights and aspects stipulated in the Egyptian Intellectual Property Law No. 82 of 2002, and within the framework of the Egyptian Constitution 2014, which devotes a complete article to establishing a national body for intellectual property. The main objective of NIIP is to raise the awareness of intellectual property as an important tool for the sustainable development.
